Back 2 School

Back to school took on a new meaning to me when I attended a class to re-certify as a substitute teacher in my local district. It's been a pain (in my back - literally) to go back to class and sit in those tiny chairs but it's reminded me how much I enjoy doing the work. It also motivates me to get my degree faster so I can get out of the substituting and into the full time teaching.

Bratwurst & Spaetzle Please

So you crave ground meats encased in animal intestines do you? I do too! That's why I love this new place in downtown Salt Lake City called "Siegfrieds." My wife took me there during a recent lunch visit and exposed me to this "German Deli" serving authentic "German Cuisine" which is composed mostly of a variety of meats and gravys as well as pickeled leafy vegetables. I don't know why exactly but I sure enjoyed the hot dishes and find myself wanting to go back again.

One suggestion through - avoid the sandwiches as well as any "American" dishes. Let's leave those to Mexicans shall we? Check out the Google Local Profile of Siegfried's

We visited our local Target Store the other day and while browsing the discount shelf my daughter started saying "Hi Dada, Hi Emma" and waving at the end of the isle. I kept turning around to figure out where who she was waving to only to find no one there. After the thrid or fourth "Hello" I decieded to figure out what was going on and asked "Emma, where's Dada?" She responded by pointing toward the celing. Ah-Ha! A TV Monitor with a camera hanging from it was fascinating my daughter as she watched her dad browsing the shelf on her left and seeing herself do it. With all the entertainment she gleamed from it, I think I'd better shop at Target more often.
