A New Flight Record!

I was supprised to be taken by suprise when I heard on the radio that an attempt to set a new flight record was being made. The first non-stop flight around the world (in a jet or otherwise) was completed today by a man named Steve Fossett in a plane designed and built by aviator Burt Brutan (who also developed the "Space Plane" that boke records peircing the earths atmosphere late last year.)

This is terribly exciting and I can't wait to learn more about the engineering, physics, and physicality that went into achieveing the feat that doomed famed pilot Amelia Earheart and her Fokker in the first half of the 20th Century.
