I really thought I would never make it this far. I enjoy Halo, but not so much to dedicate myself to attaining the lofty ranks that the incredibly skilled or unemployed (or simply unengaged) have reached. Apparently I was due to be rewarded for what dedication I have to the game. I moved up to 10 skill points in Halo 3 which granted me a field promotion past Gunnery Sergeant Grade 3 straight to Lieutenant. Yes, I somehow did what my more highly skilled brother (hollywood yj) has been striving to do for months.I'm not even sure what I did myself. I wasn't having a particularly good game (If you follow the title link above you'll visit my bungie.net member page, you can watch the video there) but when it was all over, I guess I improved enough to warrant what Bungie calls a field promotion (skipping grade to move up in rank due to an unusual and impressive jump in skill) and now I get the benefit of an additional 25 gammerpoints as well.
Some of you obviously won't get why I'm excited, and that's okay. For those of you who can understand, raise your glass, and game on.
