Project 52 is an ongoing photographic odyssey – a commitment to capturing one distinct image each week with my Canon R10. More than just a technical challenge, this year-long journey is dedicated to consistent practice, skill refinement, and reigniting my passion for the lens. It has become a profound boon to my mental, physical, and social well-being, stirring dormant interests and inspiring connection.
Phone cameras are explicitly prohibited in Project 52. A stand-alone camera of any type is required. Which camera should be determined by your passions; Always wanted to try film? Maybe use a disposable 35mm camera each week. Are you inspired by antique gear? Pick up a classic Brownie and experiment with a top-down viewfinder. In my case, I bought my first mirrorless camera and wanted a reason to learn its intricacies and idiosyncrasies.
This isn't just about honing my skills; it's a testament to the transformative power of creative discipline. My goal for one photo a week seemed arduous when I made it. Now I've taken over 50,000 photos with my new camera and posted around 1,400 images in my social channels and blog.
Join me as I share these weekly moments, a conduit for happy memories and compelling stories.
